1.    What’s your name/birthday and where are you from?

 My name is Ivie O. Enoma, I was born on October 12, 1994 in Brooklyn but I’ve lived on Long Island for 98% of my life.

2.    Are you mixed/Are you half Haitian and half Asian?

Nope! I was born in raised in America and my parents are both from Nigeria.

3.    Then why are you so obsessed with Asians?

Not obsessed! I’m just really into Japanese, Korean and Indian culture. I have cousins that are half Japanese and were born and raised there so I’ve always been exposed to Asian culture to some degree. I just love it as much as I love my Nigerian culture.

4.    Do you speak Japanese/Korean?

I wish! My goal in life is to speak 5 languages; English (of course), Italian, Edo, Japanese and Korean.

5.    Do you want to go to Japan?

It’s only my dream! I want to live there for a good period of my life. I love America but I want to have the experience of living in another country. Both of my older siblings have.

6.    What part of Nigeria are your parents from?

¶  Edo State! They’re both Bini and I think my mother is part Esan. But yes-o, I am a Bini gal!

7.    Why do you wear colored contacts?

I wear circle lenses because I want to and I like them. I’m a very visual person. If I want to look a certain way, I make sure I do.

8.     Are you ashamed of your nationality/race?

 No. Not every black girl who alters her appearance does so to “look white.” I do it because I like it and because I want to.

9.    Is that why you wear so much make up?

No. Once again, I’m a very visual person. Also, I love it and I’m good at it. Make up is fun! It’s art and I love art.

10.  Do you have a relaxer/is that your natural hair?

I went natural summer ’09. This is my natural hair but it’s not virgin. I started coloring my hair August ’10 and plan to keep doing it because I hate my hair black. But then in February I died it black so that when I start to use henna instead of commercial dyes, my hair won’t be 2 crazy colors.

11.  Why is it so curly/not kinky/nappy?

IDK. When I die I’ll ask God. Hair textures aren’t limited to skin colors.

12.  Are you into fashion?

Fashion is my drug. I want to be a designer and it’s my dream to create a Nigerian fashion/lifestyle magazine. My own Nigerian Popteen/Seventeen

13.  Who are your fashion inspirations?

Yoon, Ena Matsumoto, Chinatsu Wakatsuki, Yuria Kushido, Momoko Ogihara, Eriko Nakao, CL, G Dragon and T.O.P

14.  Are you gyaru?

¶  I follow the brands, read the magazines and keep up with the models but I don’t live the lifestyle. I’m just really, really inspired by it.

15.  You listen to k-pop?

¶  Yes! Now that is something I’m obsessed with! That and j-pop too but I’m more into j-r&b than j-pop.

16.  How did you get into it?

¶  The first k-pop star I ever saw/listened to was BoA. Her music video for “Eat You Up” was on The N at the time. From there I listened to her entire English album. The first Korean song I ever listened to was Mirotic by DBSK. My cousin Esosa from Japan had first come to live with us and was really quiet and I saw him watching the video from it and remembered my friend Cassie telling me to listen to it. The band that really got me into k-pop, like following it and new artists and songs and whatnot was SHINee. The first song I ever listened to from them was Replay. From there, I fell in love.

17.  Who are your favorite artists?

¶  K-Pop artists? Big Bang and 2NE1 for sure! Block B, SHINee, 2PM, 4 Minute, Jay Park, BoA, Wheesung, Sistar19, SNSD, DBSK, Super Junior, f (x) and Se7en are those I can name off the top of my head. Utada Hikaru, Koda Kumi, Crystal Kay and Beni Arashiro are my favorite Japanese artists. As for western artists, I love Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye West, Linkin Park, Drake, the Weeknd, Paramore, Flyleaf

18.  Who are your biases?
